STARS, in its thirteenth year of demonstrated success, consists of four specialty areas:  Professional Arts Education with an emphasis on visual and performing arts;  Living Values is a value-based education program endorsed by the United Nations to help children develop key personal and social characteristics.  Values taught include Peace, Love, Responsibility, Happiness, Cooperation, Humility, Tolerance, Simplicity and Unity;  Academic Support which is provided by credentialed staff, tutors and volunteers who work individually with children to ensure their success in school; and Mentoring, which provides an intergenerational relationship that results in miracles!

• Cultural Arts Education with an emphasis on visual and performing arts, taught be master artists Students are provided an introduction to the arts through general instruction in drama, music, dance and mixed media (painting, drawing, photograpy and sculpture), and professionally applied techniques.

• Living Values is a value-based education program endorsed by the United Nations to help children develop key personal and social characteristics, including Peace, Love, Respect, Responsibility, Happiness, Cooperation, Humility, Honesty, Tolerance, Simplicity, and Unity. Students participating in this program increase their self esteem, their ability to accept all human kind, and their capability to make appropriate choices when faced with conflict or adversity. 

• Academic Enrichment children at the highest risk of school failure are provided with one on one academic support by staff and mentors/volunteers to ensure school success. 96% of children who come to us at eminent risk of school failure are either promoted to the next grade or graduate from high school.

• Mentoring  fosters nurturing, supportive and intergenerational relationships that have a life-long impact on the children/youth we serve.  This relationship empowers children by helping him/her to build important self-esteem and trust.  Mentoring is provided on-site at the center.  Our program has been recognized for its excellence by the Harvard Mentoring Project and the Palm Beach County Mentor Center.

• Teen Leadership is our newest and most exciting program offered to youth in the 6th through 12th grades, a group that is often left out, at a huge expense to our entire community.  This program provides the unique combination of professional arts and living values education, and acedemic support to include; SAT preparation, life skills training, healthy living skills and mentoring, aimed at preparing youth to graduate from high school prepared for college and/or work.  We know that this program will have positive impact on increasing the high school graduation rate of a population that has less than a 30% chance of graduating from high school costing our community exponentially.

ENROLLMENT
